Iran repeatedly accuses Azerbaijan in polluting the Caspian Sea, told Trend the head of the Nature Protection and Environmental Policies Department of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Rasim Sattarzadeh in response to the statement made by the vice-president of Iran, Head of the Department of Ecology, Mohammad Javad Mohammadizade.
"Behind this statement is as envy for the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan, the successful implementation of the national oil strategy, and attention to environmental issues which increases from year to year," - said Sattarzadeh.
Sattarzadeh added that the Caspian Sea is a regional sea, and the improvement of its environmental condition requires joint efforts of all the five Caspian countries.
