Azerbaijani MP: Kazan trilateral meeting on Nagorno-Karabakh failed

Yesterday, the Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents discussed the main principles of a Nagorno-Karabakh settlement during a three-hour meeting in the Russian city of Kazan.

Azerbaijani MP Rasim Musabekov told a VK correspondent that he deems the recent trilateral meeting on Nagorno-Karabakh a failure, which сouldn’t live up to the expectations and promises made on its eve.

According to Mr Musabekov, no attempts to reanimate negotiations should be expected in the near future. He also indicated that tomorrow’s parade in Baku is designed to demonstrate Azerbaijan’s military power and that is very likely to intensify military rhetoric and trigger serious border incidents. Rasim Musabekov also said that Azerbaijan will continue its economic blockade of Armenia.

In addition, Mr Musabekov suggested that the Kazan failure might be interpreted as an effect of the weakness of the Russian position and affect Russia's and Azerbaijan's energetic partnership.
