The Iranian parliament has urged President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to
present a report concerning his activities as a president, RIA Novosti
reports, citing the Iranian media.
If Ahmadinejad fails to persuade the deputies to withdraw their
demands, he will have to present at a parliamentary meeting in a month
with a report on matters of mutual interest.
In May, a group of Iranian deputies announced their intention to seek
the impeachment of Ahmadinejad over about 50 cases of violation of the
constitution of Iran.
Earlier, about 90 lawmakers signed a petition to hear the report of
Ahmadinejad on the situation in the country.
