An international exhibition devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Commonweath of Independent States is to be held in Moscow on June 28 - July 3. The exhibition is taking place in the All-Russian Exhibition Center's pavilion 75. The exhibition is entitled "20 years of the CIS. Looking for new prospects for cooperation," Russian media reports.
According to information published on the CIS Executive Committee's official website, the exhibition is organized in order to enhance cooperation between the member-states of the CIS in various fields, including the humanitarian and social spheres.
The organization was founded on 8 December 1991 by the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and Ukraine, when the leaders of the three countries met at Belovezhskaya Pushcha and signed a Creation Agreement on the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the creation of the CIS as a successor entity to the USSR.
