Dagestanis gather for Mashuk-2011

The Mashuk-2011 summer camp has started operating in the North
Caucasus. Diana Oleynik, coordinator of the camp and chief specialist
of the youth policy expert committee of Dagestan, gave details about
the camp, RIA Dagestan reports.


The camp has a quota of 400 places, yet 690 young people filed
applications to attend the camp. They have 200 projects that need
completion. The grant for the youth camp was increased to 100 million
rubles.


Projects are related to volunteering, student groups, journalism,
bloggers, business and innovations.


The Mashuk summer camp offers presentations of traditions and culture
of every region. Dagestan will start demonstrations on July 9. A
delegation of 120 will take part. Dagestani President Magomedsalam
Magomedov will visit the camp. Celebrities will arrive to mark the
Region Days.


This year the groups of campers will not be formed according to
nationality. They will be split according to work categories.


Mashuk-2011 will open on July 2. It will take place in Pyatigorsk from
July 3 to 19 with over 2000 young people split into 4 categories:
student and voluntary groups, service and tourism, business and
innovation, journalists and bloggers.


Alexander Khloponin, Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North
Caucasian Federal District, Professor A. G. Dugin, head of the section
for sociology of international relations of the MSU, A. Pak, Director
General of the Corporation for Development of the North Caucasus, F.
Dyadkov, Director General of the office of the Federal Grid Company of
the Unified Energy System, Y. Starkov, Director General of the
Arkhyz-Sinara investment and construction company and A. Nevsky,
Director General of the Resorts of the North Caucasus, will attend the
camp.
