Dagestani President Magomedsalam Magomedov has met Sergey Lipatov,
board head of GRAS, an interregional production company, RIA Dagestan
reports.
Chairman of the Dagestani government Magomed Abdullayev, his deputy
Mukhtar Mejodov, Minister for Construction, Housing and Utilities
Abakar Akayev, the manager of the Eurocement Trade office in the
republic and the Director General of the Makhachkala Cement Factory,
Ali Aliyev, were at the meeting. Sergey Lipatov was assisted by the
head of Regioncement, Pavel Bystrov, head of the construction industry
section of the department of natural resources of the Bank for Foreign
Economic Activity, Anton Grigorov, and advisor of the president of
GRAS, Sergey Sherbin.
GRAS has industrial facilities in 40 regions of Russia. Dagestan
imports 1.5 million tons of cement annually. The economy of Dagestan
in the last 2 years has been improving. Launching of the cement
factory will provide cheap cement production, tax income and jobs.
The project is worth about $500 million of investments. The Bank for
Foreign Economic Activity will provide part of the sum. GRAS has been
cooperating with the bank for 4 years.
President Magomedov underlined that ecology is a key factor. Dagestan
is developing recreation and tourism, which require high ecological
standards.
