Mufti of North Ossetia apologizes to the Russian Orthodox Church.

A North Ossetian Mufti, Ali-haji Yevteyev, has apologized for a couple of insults towards the Russian Orthodox church. He said that the press, which publishes material in certain contexts is often at fault, but in some cases he is ready to acknowledge his own blame and apologizes to the Church, Interfax reports.

He points out that the interview he gave to Yana Amelina, an expert from the national strategy institute, was informal and was not for publication. In the interview, some insults turned up towards Theophanus, a church hierarch. The Mufti apologises for them. The Orthodox Church has found the Mufti's apologies sufficient to put an end to the conflict.

Earlier, archpriest Vasili Shauerman had accused Yevteyev of gossiping and slander. Yevteyev had spoken about the passivity of Orthodox priests, calling them "a community which blocks the way of God to people".

In the meantime, the experts are going to check the interview of the Mufti, in which it's alleged he said that he "had gone to learn from Hottab"
