Iran's President suggests Iran-Africa fund

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stressed the importance of maintaining regular relations with African countries, expressing Tehran's readiness to launch a joint fund with Africa, Press TV reports.

“The establishment of the fund can contribute to the expansion of ties between the two countries and other African states in various fields, including economic areas,” said President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with former Malian President Alpha Oumar Konare in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday. 

The Iranian chief executive added that Iran and African states can implement joint projects at the earliest through their constant cooperation.
