Georgia opens Upper Lars to all Russians

From now on all citizens of Russia will be able to get a visa on the spot, Civil.ge reports.

Earlier the visa-free regime was applied to only the category of Russian citizens, who had a registration in the North Caucasus countries. Residents of other regions of Russia were unable to get to Georgia via Upper Lars.

Tourists with Russian citizenship had to get a visa in the diplomatic office of the country in Moscow or upon arrival at the Tbilisi airport.

The innovation will now allow Russian citizens from any region of Russia to get visa to the Upper Lars checkpoint and visit Georgia with comfort.
