A shootout occurred on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, with one border
guard dead, Trend reports.
The incident happened at a guard box in the village of Arvana in the
Yardymli district at 13:15 local time. Fire was started from the
Iranian side.
Several armed men crossed the border. Lieutenant Guliyev Rufat Firudin
oglu was gravely wounded and died on the way to the hospital.
The border violators returned to the Iranian side of the border.
