Georgia has officially started issuing visas at Dariali (Kazbegi) — Verkhny Lars border crossing point for Russian tourists, businessmen and citizens in need for medical service in Georgia, News Georgia reports.
The crossing point was closed for three years and reopened in March 2010, although no visas were issued.
Citizens living in Chechnya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Adygeya do not need visas to enter. Other Russian citizens may receive visas in the airport of Tbilisi or Swiss embassy in Moscow.
The Kazbegi-Verkhny Lars crossing point was closed at the initiative of Russia for reconstruction. Construction ended in early May 2009. Georgia concluded reconstruction in September 2009 with the held of the USA.
