Kabardino-Balkaria leader Arsen Kanokov said that the situation in the
republic is sustainable, but the counter-terrorism regime may still
continue for months to solve all its security problems.
The counter-terrorism regime was imposed in February after the attack
on Moscow tourists in Elbrus. Three of them died. Russian
Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District,
Alexander Khloponin, met locals of the Elbrus District and offered
temporary reduction of tourists during the counter-terrorism
operation, RIA Novosti reports.
