Tyshkevich named new head of EU monitoring mission in Georgia

The High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Catherine Ashton welcomed the appointment of Andzhey Tyshkevich as the
new head of the EU monitoring mission in Georgia, ITAR-TASS reports.


Ashton noted that Tyshkevich is a skilled specialist for carrying out
monitoring in complicated political conditions. She expressed hope
that the mission will achieve success in security and stability of
Georgia and the region as a whole, strengthening trust between sides
of conflict of the war of 2008.


Tyshkevich will replace Hansjorg Haber (Germany) on the position.
Haber has become the head of the Department for Planning and Execution
of Civil Missions of the EU Foreign Office
