Azerbaijani president meets Polish premier in Baku

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Baku on Wednesday, state news agency AzerTadg said.

Aliev noted the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Poland and the importance of the development of economic ties.

He also said he hoped that Tusk’s visit would help boost bilateral cooperation in a variety of spheres.

Tusk said that he had visited the Alley of Honourable Burials and the Alley of Shekhids during his visit to the former Soviet republic and that these places were very important for Azerbaijan’s history.

The Polish premier also said he was sure his visit would give a kickstart to concrete projects, as well as broader bilateral economic cooperation.
