Khloponin: Caucasus is a strategic territory for Russia

The representative plenipotentiary of the president in the Federal District of the North Caucasus, Alexander Khloponin, said that an attitude towards Caucasus as a strategic region of the country must be formed in Russia, Ria Novosti reports. The reasons for this, according to him, are that the Caucasus works as a barrier to terrorism, extremism
and pseudo-islam from entering Russia, and that it is the only territory in the Russian Federation where the population is growing. He also said that money should be spent teaching the younger generation to work and not carry arms.
