Lavrov makes proposals on Nagorno-Karabakh peace process to Armenia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is on a visit to Yerevan where
he handed a message from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan. The message contains proposals on settling
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.


Lavrov had talks with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian. He
said that Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents planned to come
to an agreement after the Kazan summit on June 24.


Nalbandian said that Azerbaijan needs to lift 10 adjustments proposed
in Kazan in order to reach an agreement.


As Editor-in-Chief of Vestnik Kavkaza Alexey Vlasov, expected, Russia
will continue efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.


Presidents Ilham Aliyev, Dmitry Medvedev and Serzh Sargsyan had a
trilateral summit in Kazan on June 24. They discussed the basic
principles of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It was the 9th
meeting of the kind in the last 3 years. No agreements were reached
but the sides stated progress in the peace process.
