Since the beginning of the year the law enforcement authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria have killed 48 members of the illegal armed groups and their supporters, RIA Novosti reports referring to the information of the Prosecutor’s Office of the republic.
"In the past six months the FSB and the Interior Ministry carried out more than 100 different operations in which in the course of an armed resistance 48 members of illegal armed groups and their supporters were killed," – says the statement .
Among those killed are leaders and active members of militant gangs: the leader of the so-called "United Vilayat Kabarda, Balkaria and Karachay", Asker Dzhappuev, as well as such figures as Kazbek Tasha, Ratmir Sham, Aslanbek Hamurzov and other militants involved in attacks on security forces and civilians.
