Members of the Azerbaijani state commission are searching for the
remains of the aircraft which crashed in Aghanistan. All the forces
are directed towards this objective, a member of the commission of
inquiry into the incident and advisor to the director of the SilkWay
airlines, Adil Gasimov, told Trend on Monday.
According to him, representatives of a special commission aimed at
investigating the causes of the crash of the aircraft cannot reach the
mountains because of the threat of an armed incident. Local police and
municipal authorities are calling upon the local residents to assist
in the operation, Gasimov said.
Five crew members of the İL-76 4 K-AZ 55 Silk Way Airlines cargo plane
which crashed last week in Afghanistan were citizens of Azerbaijan and
four were citizens of Uzbekistan. According to information received
from officials of the Afghan media, all the crew members died.
