Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaie-Far was been injured at a control post in Baghdad, France Press reports.
The incident happened on Tuesday. The ambassador's driver continued driving despite signals of bomb detectors. A barrier fell on the car. The bomb detector controls the barrier.
A spokesman for the ambassador said that the diplomat received light facial injuries.
Mehr said that the ambassador received serious injuries. Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki said that an investigation was organized into the incident. It clarified that the diplomat is in stable condition.
The so-called "green zone" of Baghdad, where the incident happened, is the area where government buildings and diplomatic missions are located. It is guarded by special fences. It is located in on the right side of River Tigris.
