Shamil Murtuzaliyev, deputy commander of the special police forces of
Dagestan, was killed by unidentified assailants today, RBC reports.
Another terrorist attack was organized earlier. A military convoy was
attacked, one soldier and two civilians were killed and seven were
injured. Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said that 100
militants have been killed since the beginning of 2011. 118 members of
illegal armed formations were arrested.
The police lost 40 officers, 74 more were injured. Over 70 submachine
guns, 157 pistols, 125 grenades, 3 suicide belts and a large quantity
of explosives were confiscated.
