New EU president supports Turkey's membership of EU

The president of Poland, the current EU President, Bronislaw
Komorowski, has spoken out in favor of Turkey's accession to the
European Union, TRT reports.

Komorowski arrived in Vienna at the invitation of Austrian President
Heinz Fischer, where he was asked about his attitude as a Catholic
towards the membership of a Muslim country of the EU. Komorowski
assured his interlocutor that all interreligious and intercultural
conflicts between the countries remained in the distant past.
