Iran destroys Kurdish camp in north-west

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps and Kurdish rebels had a
shootout in the north-west of the country on July 17, five rebels were
killed, RBC reports.


The military destroyed a major camp of the Party of Free Life
Kurdistan (PJAK), north-east of Sardasht.


It was not the first shoot-out with Kurdish militants in the last
week. 13 Turkish servicemen and 7 Kurdish militants were killed in the
north-east of Turkey on July 14. It was the biggest incident in the
last three years. Protests against the rebels were held today in
Ankara and Istanbul.
