An employee of the Georgian diplomatic mission in Kiev, who attacked the photojournalist of the Kommersant newspaper, Alexander Yamkovoy, has been relieved of his duties, the Georgian embassy informs, accroding to Interfax-Ukraine.
The Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine expressed its regrets over the incident that occurred during a protest in front of the Georgian Embassy in Kiev on July 18. The employee of the the embassy attacked the photographer and verbally accused the protesters.
Earlier, Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Grigol Katamadze announced his intention to dismiss the employee.
