Russia will send 6.81 billion rubles to South Ossetia as part of an investment programme on the support of social and economic development in the republic in 2011.
The funding was announced at a Russian-South Ossetian inter-governmental committee meeting. President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity and the minister of regional development of Russia Viktor Basargin participated.
Basargin said that South Ossetia had achieved economic independence from Georgia and entered a period of stable development.
The next session of the committee will take place in early October in Moscow.
