The photographers arrested for espionage in Georgia will be questioned
again, News Georgia cites the lawyer of a photographer Nino
Andriashvili as saying.
Photographer of Georgian president's press-service Irakly Gedenidze,
his wife photographer Natiya Gedenidze, EPA photo reporter Zurab
Kurtsikidze and photographer Georgy Abdaladze who worked for Alia
Holding, Georgian Foreign Ministry and Associated Press, were detained
on July 7. Abdaladze, Gedenidze and Kurtsikidze were detained, Natiya
Gedenidze was released on bail of about $6,000.
Georgian prosecutors said that they admitted guilt on July 16,
questioning continues. There are additional questions to the suspects,
Andriashvili said.
The Georgian Interior Ministry accuses the four of spying for the
Russian Defense Ministry. Kurtsikidze is believed to be connected with
Anatoly Sinitsyn and Sergey Orkorov, who are also on the Georgian
wanted list for espionage.
The police have notes of telephone conversations of Kurtsikidze with
Abdaladze and Irakly Gedenidze.
