Turkey insists on Armenia leaving occupied territories

The Grand Mufti of the Caucasus, Allahshukur Pashazade, has met with
Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip
Erdogan. They discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, ANS reports.

One of the topics was the attitude of Gul towards the demand of US
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to ratify the protocols signed in
Zurich.

Gul said that he is devoted to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
He noted that the meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents
organized by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev allowed certain issues
to be resolved.

Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia need friendly ties. Achieving that
requires withdrawal from the occupied territories and the return of
refugees, the Turkish president believes.
