Georgian President honors Erdogan with "Golden Fleece" award

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has awarded Turkish Premier
Recep Tayip Erdogan with the "Golden Fleece" medal. The ceremony took
place in Batumi during the grand opening of a Sheraton hotel, built
with Turkish investments, Trend reports.
 "The Turkish Premier has shown diplomatic heroism in the negotiation
process over the Iranian nuclear program. This issue has worried
leaders of most states, especially those of the Caucasus region. This
is was a question of world stability and for many years it remained
unresolved. Erdogan and the Brazilian President have secured world
stability. This is a real diplomatic success for Europe, Iran, the US
and the entire region", Saakashvili pointed out.
Saakashvili also noted that this was enough for Erdogan to earn the
respect of the entire world. But he has also played a significant role
in boosting Georgian-Turkish relations, and the Georgian peace
process.
Erdogan pointed out that receiving this award is an honor for him. The
two countries have made great efforts to establish close cooperation
and melt the ice of distrust.
Both presidents expressed satisfaction with the development of
Georgian-Turkish relations.
