Armenian authorities start talks with opposition

A meeting between delegations of Armenia's ruling coalition and the opposition Armenian National Congress has taken place. The agenda included two issues, head of the coalition working group Davit Harutyunyan told journalists, News.am reports.

The first proposal was put forward by the Armenian National Congress. It refers to snap presidential and parliamentary elections, aimed at forming legitimate power in Armenia and taking certain measures to hold transparent, fair and legal elections.

The second proposal was put forward by the authorities. It refers to holding elections properly and implementing certain rules to secure civil political competition.

The next meeting is scheduled for August 4.
