Poland supports Georgia’s intention to join the EU and NATO, Polish president Bronislav Komorovsky stated in Batumi at a joint press conference with Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili, Trend reports.
“Georgia has taken the right direction, and we support your country in democratic reforms and European integration,” he said. Komorovsky stressed the necessity of strengthening cooperation between Georgia and the EU.
The president of Poland urged Polish businessmen to invest in the Georgian economy.
Saakashvili stated that Poland is an important country in the region and “improving Poland’s position in the EU enables countries which apply to join NATO to see their future in an optimistic light.”
