Abkhaz candidates for president, Alexander Ankvab, Raul Hajimba and
Sergey Shamba, signed a charter urging fair elections today, ITAR-TASS
reports.
Public figures and journalists signed it as well.
The document was initiated by the Forum of People's Unity of Abkhazia,
represented by candidate Hajimba.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that Abkhazia had started election
campaigning on July 26. Early elections were organized due to the
death of President Sergey Bagapsh. They will be held on August 26.
