Turkey, Azerbaijan confirm strategic partnership

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep
Tayyip Erdogan had a closed-door meeting on July 27, 1news.az reports.


Erdogan said that Aliyev's visit would strengthen ties between the two states.


Turkey will host the first council of Azerbaijani-Turkish strategic partnership.
APA reports that Erdogan is on a visit to Baku. The Turkish prime
minister and Azerbaijani president discussed military, trade,
economic, social and cultural topics.


Erdogan also commented on the statement of Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan. The Turkish official says that Sargsyan needs to apologize.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's statements will remain unanswered
unless he realizes his error, Turkish Minister for EU Affairs Egemen
Bagish said, commenting on Sargsyan's statements made in Tsakadzor at
an Armenian language, literature and studies contest.


Sargsyan called for the capture of 'Western Armenia", a Turkish territory.
