Brussels to host Armenia-NATO talks

Brussels will host talks on the Individual Partnership Action Plan
(IPAP) of Armenia and NATO, RIA Novosti reports.

The plan was signed in December 2005.

The talks will be held in the 28+1 format. Armenia will be represented
by Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Defense Minister Seyran
Oganyan.

The IPAP includes regular consultations on regional security, security
strategy, development of Armenia's military doctrine, improvement of
defenses, budget planning and other issues with NATO.

James Apparthurai, Special Representative of the NATO secretary
general for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said at a meeting with
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan that the secretary general ordered
him to improve Armenian-NATO cooperation.

Sargsyan noted the significance of realization of the plan and
expressed hope for approval of the new program for 2011-2012.
