The head of the Russian Federal State Statistical Service, Alexander
Surinov, said during a visit to Chechnya that he appreciated the
preparations for a census in Chechnya, Yuga.ru reports.
All municipal institutions are already working on providing census
takers with accommodation, and the lists of city and village
administration staff lists have been formed. The heads of enterprises,
organizations and departments of Higher Education centres in the
republic have agreed to assist, the head of the territorial state
statistical structure in Chechnya, Ramzan Digayev, said.
"It is important to explain to people the reasons for the census, that
the data will not be disclosed, it is carried out in the republic's
interest. Mass media, the ministries and even the clergy will actively
aid us", he said.
