Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has met the Vice-President
of the Academy of Information, Alexey Tikhomirov, Trend reports.
The sides discussed implementation of innovative information and
telecommunication technologies.
Turkmenistan has recently reopened the Academy of Sciences,
Post-Graduate Studies, Education. The unique Institute of Desert and
Sun were restored.
The president ordered the opening of the National Space Agency a month
ago to launch the first national satellite.
A technopark is being formed in the village of Bikrov near Ashkhabad
for scientific research. It will study alternative energy sources and
nano-technologies. The technopark resembles Soviet structures. The
first technopark in the USSR was formed in Tomsk in 1988, resembling a
French one.
