Ukraine proposed the UN to store the world grain reserve, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Nikolai Prisyazhok said, ITAR-TASS reports.
Ukraine may form the reserve of 10-12 million tons of grain.
Ukraine collected 30.5 million tons of early grain, exceeding the quantity in August 2010 by 8 million tons. Over 1 million hectares of grain are to be harvested. 60% of grain collected is of high quality.
Ukraine will collect 12.3 million hectares of early grain and colza, 6.773 million hectares of wheat, 3.772 million hectares of barley, 283,000 hectares of rye, 292,000 hectares of oats, 270,000 hectares of peas and 858,000 hectares of colza.
42 million tons of grain are to be collected this year. Ukraine will export 20-25 million tons in 2011-2012.
Ukraine had 39.2 million tons of grain in 2010 and 46 million in 2009.
