The president of the republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has said at
a meeting with Gudermes local authorities and religious leaders that
he won't allow the spread of radical ideas in the republic.
"We are done with terrorism, and now we have to focus our efforts on
work with the youth," he said.
"We are responsible for the lives of our children and if some of them
join the militants it should be taken as a personal tragedy. Only such
an attitude will let us prevent the rebirth of extremism and terrorism
in our republic," he said.
He also noted that law-enforcement authorities, local administrations
and religious leaders do a lot to bring up young people in the moral
sphere, but there is still a lot more things to do. Kadyrov noted the
importance of employment.
"We have put in enormous efforts and sacrificed many lives for peace,
thus we have to secure it and strengthen," he said, reports Yuga,
