Azerbaijani ex-president arrives in Baku

Former Azerbaijani President Ayaz Mutalibov has arrived in Baku to
attend the funeral of his son,  the co-chair of the Azerbaijani Social
Democratic Party, Araz Alizadeh, told Trend.

The son of Ayaz Mutallibo, Mutallibov Azad died on Monday after a long
illness. The eldest son of former President Mutallibov was born in
1962. The funeral will be held on August 9 in the Taza-Pir mosque in
Baku.

Ayaz Mutalibov was elected president of Azerbaijan on September 8,
1991. After the tragedy in Khojaly on the night of February 25 to 26
Mutallibov resigned and has since lived in Moscow. In Azerbaijan he is
accused of abuse of office and criminal acts.
