Yerevan to knock down street stalls

Yerevan will continue knocking down street trader’s stalls, Armenian
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said, News Yerevan reports.


Stalls were taken on Komitas and Papazyan Streets, where a fight
occurred between street traders and the police. Sargsyan said that
they will have an individual approach to every street trader.


Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan will report on the process on
August 16. The Human Rights Protection Office is studying the legality
of the process and demands explanations for the problems.


The Yerevan mayor has removed almost all street trading stalls and
sites. The city provided 3,000 trading spots at markets. The mayor is
considering the construction of 10 mini-markets for street traders.
