Kabardino-Balkaria has lifted the counter-terrorism regime that had
been imposed in Nalchik, its outskirts and the Chegemsky District in
February this year, RIA Novosti reports.
Unidentified assailants attacked Moscow tourists on a highway in
Kabardino-Balkaria. Three people died and two were wounded. The
terrorists destroyed a cable way. A counter-terrorism regime was
imposed in the Elbrus District part of Baksan District on February 20.
The same regime was implied in Nalchik and its outskirts and villages
in the Chegemsky and Chereksky Districts.
The head of the operative headquarters of Kabardino-Balkaria,
General-Major Sergey Kmenny, said that they had lifted the regime.
The regime was in force on 2nd Tamanskaya Division, Shogenov,
Profsoyuznaya, Tereshkova and Studencheskaya Streets, Festivalny Lane,
and the villages of Khasanya, Belaya Rechka, Kenzhe, Chegem, Adiyukh,
Shalushka, Kamenka, Yanikoy and Lechinkay.
A counter-terrorism regime involves limitations, checking of
documents, detentions and questioning for lack of documents.
