'Iran-Turkey relations rapidly improving' - Ambassador

Iran's ambassador to Turkey says bilateral ties between the two countries are rapidly progressing, highlighting a significant rise in the two countries' trade ties, Press TV reports.

“The train of Iran-Turkey relations is moving fast ahead thanks to measures by the two sides and will not move back,” Ambassador Bahman Hosseinpour said at a reception at Iran's embassy in Ankara on Wednesday.

Hosseinpour said the volume of trade between Iran and Turkey grew by 80 percent in the first five months of 2011 in comparison with the same period last year to hit USD 6.3 billion.

The number is expected to hit USD 13 billion by the end of the current year, he added.
