Erdogan and Obama discuss Syrian crisis

US President Barack Obama had a telephone conversation with Turkish
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday and discussed the
situation in Syria. They both agreed on the need for democracy in the
country.


Obama;s administration may soon urge Syrian President Bashar Assad to
resign. Civilian activists say that Assad's forces have killed about
2,000 people.
