Ships of the Navies of Russia and Kazakhstan will conduct joint
hydrographic research in the Caspian Sea, the press service of the
Ministry of Defense has informed, News-Kazakhstan reports.
A GS-202 vessel, in conjunction with the hydrographic vessel Zhaiyk of
Kazakhstan, will carry out hydrographic research in the area adjacent
to the maritime waters where joint training exercises will take place
soon, the Defense Ministry specified.
Joint exercises are meant to strengthen cooperation in the field of
regional security and defense, as well as counter-terrorism and
counter-extremism, the press release reads.
