Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has expressed the Islamic Republic's fierce opposition to nuclear weapons, stressing that such arms should be left in the past century, Iranian news agency Press TV reports.
“Iran is against the possession of nuclear weapons by any country. If there is a real intention to oppose nuclear weapons, we must oppose the current nuclear arsenals,” Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Russia Today on Saturday.
The Iranian President noted that the faithful Iranian nation is against nuclear weapons because they are “inhumane” and are religiously prohibited and stated that nuclear weapons are not currently efficient.
