Syrian army troops shelled the port city of Latakia on Sunday for the second day in a row, causing an unspecified number of casualties, opposition activists said, Trend reports.
On Saturday the army began an operation in Latakia's southern district of Ramleh, triggering an exodus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
According to activists, at least 11 civilians were killed on Saturday in a series of army actions in Latakia, Hama and the central region of Homs.
