Red Cross visits Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan

The International Red Cross Committee has visited three Armenian
prisoners of war and five members of an Armenian family in Azerbaijan.


The Red Cross staff handed them four letters and received five,
spokesman of the organization Shakhlu Gakhramanova said, Trend
reports.


According to the deal signed in Agdam on March 17, Azerbaijan
exchanged Armenian citizen Artur Badalyan for Azerbaijani serviceman
Anar Gajiyev.


Sergeant Junior Roman Guseynov was captured by Armenia on August 27, 2010.
Azerbaijan transported three Armenian servicemen to a third state of
their own accord earlier.


According to the Geneva Convention, the Red Cross has operated in
Azerbaijan and Armenia since 1992 due to the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict.
