Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed off on amendments on the
federal law on foreign workers, the Kremlin said.
The changes in the law oblige employers to inform the Federal
Migration Service (FMS) not only of the hiring of a foreign worker,
but also about the termination of their labor contract. They must also
inform the FMS when a foreign worker is given more than a month's
unpaid leave.
The amendments also reinforce the right of the FMS to hold data on
foreign workers
