Russia has become head of the naval group BLACKSEAFOR and took command
of six vessels of the rapid response group for a year. The ceremony of
handing over the leadership took place in Novorossiysk. Last year
BLACKSEAFOR was headed by Romania, Business Georgia reports.
BLACKSEAFOR was established ten years ago and is aimed at ensuring
peace and environmental security in the Black Sea region. The
organization has six naval vessels and more than 600 people of
personnel. BLACKSEAFOR has six countries-members.
