The euro exchange rate in relation to dollars increased this Monday
due to the meeting of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French
President Nikolas Sarkozy.
The euro-dollar exchange rate is 1.4444, compared with 1.4249 on
Friday. The yen-dollar rate reached 76.84, compared with 76.59
earlier, RIA Novosti reports.
Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou met counterpart Francois Fillon
to discuss common bonds issuing. They agreed on realization of the new
plan for support of Greece, reached in July, and expressed concern on
the debt in the euro zone.
Greece is the first state to request credit support from its currency
partners. Germany is the most reliable creditor, paying the lowest
rate, unlike other 16 states of the euro zone.
