Although the date of parliamentary polls in Georgia in 2012 has not
been clarified, opposition groups have said they will start their
electoral campaign in September, Georgia Online reports.
Leader of Free Democrats, Irakly Alasania, has already started
meetings with potential voters. He is considered a leader of the
political coalition of the Republican Party, National Forum, Party of
People, Conservatives Party and the Georgia's Way.
Voice of America reported that Irakly Alasania visited the USA in
July, Shida Kartli, Guria and Samegrelo. He said that Governor of
Samegrelo, Gorozia, will soon leave post, Agriculture Minister Bakur
Kvezereli will be dismissed.
Alasania noted that 70% of the population is unemployed. He blames the
National Movement and the Georgian government.
Special events will be organized in September for support of
solidarity with political prisoners and political rights, freedom of
media. Agreements were reached with professional groups,
non-governmental organizations. It will be a partnership of political
parties and the public to realize every citizen's right for voting.
