Creative director of Tbilisi theatre fired 'over political views'

Robert Sturua, creative director of Rustaveli Drama Theatre, was relieved of his duties by the Culture Minister of Georgia, Gazeta.ru reports.

The ministry hasn't commented on this decision, but Mr Sturua says that he was fired because of his sharp and public criticism of President Saakashvili. Mr Sturua compared Saakashvili to Hitler and even to Satan as well as accusing him of corruption, loss of Georgian territories and excessive use of force.
